How We Gave One Customer the Kitchen of Their Dreams

A newly remodeled kitchen is something a lot of our customers dream of. Maybe your kitchen was great for your needs when you bought the house but hasn’t kept up with technology or the needs of your growing family.  Or maybe you always planned to remodel the kitchen of your home but haven’t gotten around to doing the project yet. Whatever the case, we love to help our customers realize their lifelong kitchen dreams!

Earlier this year, we helped a customer get the kitchen she always wanted in the budget she had set. They were so happy with the final product, we thought we’d share it with you.

For this kitchen remodel, completed this summer, we had a set budget. The woman of the house loved to cook and she had a large family to cook for. In addition, the family loved to entertain. The kitchen they had was just not up to what they needed.

We Started with the Kitchen Sink

We started by installing a farmhouse sink – a highly coveted feature of many kitchens. However, this type of sink is larger than a standard sink, so we had to rebuild the sink cabinet below to accommodate the sink’s larger size.

Kitchen Storage Solutions

To help save the customer some money, we re-used most of the base cabinets. We were able to give the customer the storage space they needed and only build a few new cabinets. We also put on new doors and drawer fronts.  This is a much less expensive solution than rebuilding all the cabinets would have been.

The crew at Houston also installed floating shelves in place of some of the cabinets. These were made of butcher blocks and give the kitchen a more professional look (closer to how restaurant kitchens look). If you want your kitchen to give off that professional vibe, then keep that in mind when you’re planning your redesign. You can find some more information about kitchen storage solutions here.

New Kitchen Countertops

Selecting the right countertop materials for a kitchen remodelling project can sometimes be tough. This customer decided to replace all her granite countertops with quartz. Quartz countertops are non-porous and offer a better resistance to stains than granite countertops.

Additionally, we helped to install several LED wafer lights. We were able to make them look like canned lights. But, because they are LED, they don’t have the energy requirements and they don’t give off heat. If you’re thinking about lighting for your kitchen remodeling project, we recommend LED wafer lights. You’ll love how they look.

Installing the Customer’s New Kitchen Appliances

As part of the remodeling effort, we helped the customer change out every appliance, except for the refrigerator. The customer bought the new appliances, which included a new convection oven and a new range with a hood and we installed it for them.

If you’ve purchased a new appliance as part of your kitchen remodel project, then let us help you with the installation!

The Laundry Room

We also helped the customer with their laundry room which is next to the new kitchen. We helped with remodeling it by putting in wall planking and shelving.

In the end, the customers were happy with how the project turned out and we were within a few hundred dollars of the budget. It took about a month to complete the kitchen remodel for the customer. We’re happy with how it turned out too.
